Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons: Behold is an exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum capturing a visionary voice in paintings, videos, and performance. Campos-Pons uses her family story of migration to tell the story of enslavement, motherhood, labor, and migration.

“The Calling” features Campos-Pons holding white flowers, while she looks up at the sky. She is covered in cascarilla, a powder that represents purity and power against bad energy.

On November 1, the day after Halloween, Lehman College hosted a pumpkin smash! Students on campus probably spotted the "rocket launcher" just outside of Shuster. The NYC compost project, hosted by the NY Botanical Garden donated pumpkins to Lehman College. Michael Richards: Are you down? exhibition opened its doors September 8, 2023, in a place Richards thought of as a second home -- The Bronx. The Bronx. Museum of Art features 12 abstract sculptures and 25 drawings which illustrate the intensity of racial discrimination in American history. The most notable pieces of Richards' career are displayed such as Tar Baby vs. St. Sebastian, Swing Low, Flight and Aviation, and Jacobs Ladder to name a few. “In a lot of my work the metaphor of escape is a recurring one,” says Richards. “It’s about a societal escape. Jay-Z grew up in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, where he is now honored for his contribution to musical history. The San Gennaro festival is back. The feast celebrates the life of San Gennaro of Naples, the bishop of Benevento in Italy. The annual celebration of Italian culture kicked off September 14 in Little Italy and continues through September 24. People from all over come to eat different Italian meals while enjoying music and culture. The Artuso family story begins in 1946 when Anthony’s father, Vincent Artuso, returned from the Army and bought a bakery on 187 St where he had been trained in the delicate art of Italian pastry.

The New York Transit Museum is located in a 1936 train station on Schermerhorn Street in downtown Brooklyn and preserves artifacts from one of the world’s oldest mass transit systems. The museum opened on July 4, 1976 in a station that had been abandoned for over 30 years. Exhibits highlight system engineering, design, and workforce. The block-long underground museum features 20 vintage cars, buses, antique MTA machines and subway tokens. A Day In the Life at Doggie Daycare. I work at a dog daycare and boarding facility. While that may be a dream for many, it isn’t all fun and games. I’m responsible for the well-being of as few as one to as many as 60 dogs a day. A normal day entails getting to work almost an hour before opening to prepare my room, assess what dogs are there, and review whether I need to make special accommodations. For example, if there are any dogs who cannot be in open play together or if a dog needs to be brought into the room from a different part of the facility such as the grooming room. Meal prepping is extremely important when we have boarders because a lot of our dogs have specific feeding instructions. Some have medicine that needs to be administered, while others may have allergies that cross-contamination may irritate. The dogs not only learn and take instructions from me but also from each other. My favorite part of working here is watching dogs find themselves in each other. Gustav Klimt’s Gold in Motion at Hall des Lumières is set inside the elaborate former teller hall of the historic Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank. The show opened September 14, 2022 with an inaugural exhibition of Gustav Klimt’s work. Klimt was an Austrian painter (1862-1918) who used gold leaf in his art.
