The Jacob Javits Center hosted this year’s New York Comic Con and all 151,000 of its attendees.

Tickets were sold out in hours as people salivated at the thought of releasing their inner nerds.

Many fans put hours into their costumes to give the same effect as their comic counterparts.

The Javits Center was packed full with hundreds of Spider-Mans and Black-Canaries looking for their Green-Arrows.

Dozens of children dressed as Minions ran rampant through booths, giggling and playing hide-and-seek with their parents.

Although many people go to Comic Con each year to indulge in healthy cosplay, more look to sell or buy comic-themed items.

Everything from Gundam action figurines to Luffy’s Straw-Hat from One Piece were on sale.

“I was blessed with a pass for the rest of the weekend,” said attendee Paul Simmons. “It was between this and my aunt’s birthday, so I’m glad to say I won't mind missing any birthday cake.”

Many yet-to-be-released video games and eye-watering artworks competed for fans' attention.

Hundreds of limited edition comics and action figures were on sale for hefty price tags.

“It’s an amazing experience! Every now and again, we get to express ourselves in a way the world doesn’t get to see us,” said John Snyder, 26, a Comic Con attendee dressed as Marvel’s Thor. “For some of us, we get to relive our childhoods, and for others, it’s more of a fantasy thing.”

Banisters of bikini wearing anime vixens draped down from the ceilings and beckoned to X-Men themed fanatics. It's easy to say Jean would not be very thrilled with Cyclops.
