Will Smith in the Bronx

By Dimitri Brown

The Bronx had an “alien” visitor. Will Smith, along with Josh Brolin, was shooting Men in Black III at Vans Bowling Alley on Morris Park and Bronxdale Avenues. Director Barry Sonnenfeld, Smith, and Brolin arrived in the Bronx on Monday, April 11. The production crew and staff set up trailers and trucks along the sidewalks of Bronxdale Avenue.

As Smith walked from his trailer to the set, he was clearly not shy, while Brolin tended to keep his eyes down with a smile and made a beeline to the bowling alley. Right before Smith walked in, he smiled and waved to the fans across the street to show them some Fresh Prince love. Fans lined up behind security gates to capture the slightest glimpse or silhouette of the actor. After Smith was done shooting for the day, he walked across the street with his bodyguards and signed autographs for the fans. Later he ducked inside his vehicle to close the day with the crew.

Men in Black III is set for release in theaters on May 25, 2012.
