The Russian Way

A couple of years ago if you were to tell me that I would learn Russian and move to Russia, I would have called you crazy. However, today with the Internet , it is now easier for us to learn a new language. But if you really want to learn a language you will need to go to the country you are interested in. Lehman College has an excellent course in Russian – and not only in Russian but the history and what it’s like today. But then again, if you really want to know what is going on in Russia, don’t listen to the biased news in America or any other country. Even the news here in Russia can’t show Russia in the right light. No, you will need to come here for yourself and see how normal everyday people live and you need to interact with them as well.

Being an American in Russia, I have been to many sites where expats write about knowing Russia. However, I have come to the conclusion that most expats will say anything to prevent you from coming to Russia. They will tell you this because they are teachers of English, and yes, they hate competition in the market. The minute new people come to Russia, the minute they are out of jobs. Remember how markets and businesses work, just like anywhere in this world, people will try to say anything to prevent more people from taking their jobs.

If you are reading this and you would love to come to Russia, then go for it. Remember folks, this is Russia, it is still a Wild West when it comes to businesses. Open up your own business and you can make a future just by doing anything that Americans are doing today.
